Gabriel Vincent George, age 64, was surrounded by his wife and children as he passed from this life on Monday, December 1st. He is reunited in Heaven with his father (John), mother (Merle), brother (Bert), uncle (Gabriel), and aunt (Dot). Gabriel was born in Mobile, AL on March 6, 1950. He graduated from Warner Robbins High School in Georgia in 1968, then embarked on a prestigious career in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1994. Gabriel was awarded numerous Meritorious Service medals including the Bronze Star for his contributions during the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. He was a family man and his happiest moments were when he was with them.
Gabriel is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Donna; daughter, Melanie Bennett; son-in-law, Johnnie Bennett; son, Gabriel George; daughter-in-law, Robyn George; daughter, Stephanie Demarco; and son-in-law, Bryan Demarco. His grandchildren, Landon & Brady Bennett, William, Evan, Brennan, Hank, & Preston George, and Isabella DeMarco, brought him the greatest joys in his life. Sharing his life amongst his siblings, John George III, Emile George, Catherine Shields, Marie Neal, Thomas George, Merle Tant, Anthony George, and David George meant so much to him. He also leaves behind numerous family members and friends, whom he cherished.
Those who know him best will always remember him when they watch football (Roll Tide, Go Colts), listen to oldies, play cards, or reflect on the long heart-to-heart conversations they shared with him. In the hearts of his family, he is treasured and remembered as the most wonderful husband, daddy, grandpa, brother, and uncle in the world. He touched our lives and made them better just by being himself. His family and friends are blessed and thankful to have shared his life with him. His legacy of love and unsurpassable strength continues through his children.
"We love you with all our hearts and will miss you every second of every day for eternity. You will never be forgotten."
