Garry Lewis Bouissey, 83, of Gulfport, MS passed away in Gulfport, MS on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
He was born on August 4, 1942, in Malone, NY to Edward Louis Bouissey and Eloise Boyea Bouissey. Growing up on a farm, Garry learned a lot about the importance of hard work. He used that lesson in hard work while in the Army and when obtaining his two master’s degrees, one in nursing and one in business administration. Garry retired from the state of New York, the state of North Carolia, and the state Mississippi as an investigator for nursing homes and live-in facilities.
Garry loved plants and flowers and looked forward to the cheerful blooms of his work. He was a gemologist who loved to mine for rocks and stones that interested him. Garry loved the Kentucky Derby and had the fortunate circumstances to be able to attend in person many times. He loved to bake cakes and give them away to the people who mattered to him, like his neighbors, his doctors and nurses, and everyone who cared for him over the years.
Garry loved our Lord and loved being in the service of Him. In good health, he would attend mass daily at Our Lady of Fatima and would spend time reading the Bible and studying God’s word. Garry’s motto was always “God first, family second.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Louis Bouissey and Eloise Boyea Bouissey; both of his wives, Kathleen Bouissey and Maggie Bouissey; and his stepson, Tony LaPierie.
He is survived by his brothers, Darrel and Lyle Bouissey; his stepchildren, Gary LaPierie, Francis Lapierie, Leza Hardy, Jon Mark Hardy, and Sabyne Bonnecarrere; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to extend a special thank you to Arden Hospice and Kay’s Cozy Community Residential Home. Thank you also to Keanna, with Kay’s Cozy Community, for the love and care given to Garry.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Garry’s name to the American Cancer Society, either online or by phone:
