Gary Durham, 45, of Ocean Springs was called home by our Heavenly Father on January 16, 2015.
Mr. Durham was born on July 24, 1969 in East St. Louis, IL. He moved to Ocean Springs in 1991 where he resided until his death. He was employed with DaVita as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician. He will be remembered as a giver, always giving back to the community by helping others as an EMT, Sheriff’s reserve officer, and volunteer fire fighter. Anytime a family member or friend were in need or when his children or grandchildren called with a boo boo, he was there. Beloved by his parents, wife, children, grandchildren and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, John A. Durham; his maternal grandmother, Susie Esther Gamache; his maternal grandfather, Walter Harry Gamache; paternal grandmother, Ethel Bradshaw King; paternal grandfather, Edgar Durham; and his step-grandfather, Dilbert King.
Gary leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 18 years, Janet Durham; his mother, Charlotte K. Durham; his mother-in-law, Lois Goss; his children, Nick Sentelle (Tonya), Joseph Scott Sentelle, Melody Dempsey (Michael), Amber Sentelle (Charles), Jarod Durham, all of Vancleave, MS, Tamara Durham of Caseyville, IL and Thomas Durham of Sevierville, TN; 14 grandchildren, Valirea Sentelle, Hilary Sentelle, Johnathan Steele II, Mason Dempsey, Ian Dempsey, Braxtyn Sentelle, Emileigh Sentelle, Dylan Sentelle, Elijah Schoenick, Krista-Lynne Sentelle, Jarod Durham, Cheyenne Wolfe, Lilian May Bond, and Alaina Morris; two brothers, Stanley Durham (Connie) of Sparta, IL, and Richard J. Durham (Loretta) of E. Carondelet, IL; two sisters, Teresa Owens (Jim) of Granite City, IL and Rose Chartrand of E. Carondelet, IL; his friend whom he called brother, Jason Salisbury (Misty) of Gautier, MS; his kidney donor, Crystal Thompson, whom without hesitation gave us ten more years with Gary; a host of nieces, nephews and too many friends and colleagues to mention. He was loved by many and never met a stranger.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service. All services will be at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
