Gene Swearingen

Gene Swearingen, MSGT, USAF Retired, age 78, of Gulfport, went to be with Jesus, on Saturday, November 2, 2013. His loving wife of 39 years, Jan Swearingen, was at his side. Mr. Swearingen also retired as a reporter with the Sun Herald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Nellie Swearingen and three brothers. Survivors include his wife, Jan Swearingen of Gulfport; son, Charles F. Swearingen of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Susan K. (Richard) Scott of Gulfport and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from 5pm until 7pm, at Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road in Gulfport. The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home. A private burial at Biloxi National Cemetery is scheduled.
