George “Andy” Cuevas, age 59, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Andy was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and attended school in Gulfport. He was a proud welder and shipbuilder who dedicated many years to his craft. He took great pride in his work and the life he built through his strong hands, determination, and skill. Andy was a devoted father, grandfather, and partner whose greatest joy was his family. He loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, where he found peace and contentment. He also enjoyed gardening, grilling, and cooking for those he loved. Whether working with his hands, being on the water, or gathered with family, Andy was happiest in the simple moments of life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Cuevas.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving life partner, Lisa Wilhelm; his mother, Nancy Cuevas; his children, Madeline Cuevas, Makayla Cuevas, Mason Cuevas, Maranda Cuevas, and Devon Martin; his step-daughters, Holly Wilhelm Gonzalez (Johnny) and Brooke Mize (Charles); his siblings, Jan Lizana (David), Sue Lemay (Ron), Phillip Cuevas (Tammy), and Randal Cuevas; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved grandchildren.
Andy will be remembered for his strength, his love for his family, and the quiet way he cared for those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
