George Stephen Battise

Mr. George S. Battise, 67, of Biloxi, MS, died Friday, January 1, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Battise was a native and lifelong resident of Biloxi. He was a hard working shrimper who loved his family and working on the water. Mr. Battise was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus J. and Sophie LeBatard Battise; sister, Doreen Fobes; and brothers, Rufus A. Battise and William M. Battise. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Norma Battise; daughters, Michelle (Joseph) Esquivell of Moss Point, Cathy (John) Hope of Biloxi, and Stacey (David) Talianchich of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Therese Magnuson, Rose Haley, and LuWanda Cockrell; and brothers, Paul Battise and Milton Battise. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Monday, January 4, 2010, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
