George Winston Trent, age 86, of D’Iberville, MS, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Ocean Springs Hospital.

George was born on September 4, 1940, in Bristol, England to Edwin and Phyllis Trent. He attended Southern Illinois University and received his bachelor’s degree. George enlisted in the U.S. Navy, becoming a Navy Seal. After retiring from the Navy, George went to work for Lockheed in Seattle, WA, then came to Biloxi in 1988 to work for Avondale. In 2012, he received the Barnabas Award from Heritage United Methodist Church for his dedication to service within the church and for exemplifying the virtues of Barnabas, a disciple of Jesus. When he was not working, you could find George either gardening, grilling, or tinkering around the house.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Trent and Phyllis Trent; and his first wife, Patricia Trent.

He is survived by his spouse, Linda; his children, Julia “Jewel” Leazier, Nancy Turner, Alicia Brown, and Matt Trent; his grandchildren, Rhiannon Leazier, Gonzell Turner, Raven Leazier, and Bianca Hoops; his great-grandchildren, Killian Gould, Kasen Gould, Marley Holloway, Cameron Hoops, and Kyree Hoops; and his beloved Chihuahua, “Pepe”.

A Funeral Service will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church in D’Iberville on February 13, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Heritage United Methodist Church.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Ocean Springs Hospital and the Hospice of Light.
