George Wyman Davis

George Wyman Davis, 77, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

George was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished Papa, faithful man, and a true friend to so many. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Retirement, however, never quite suited George. He retired six times because, as everyone who knew him would say, he simply could not sit still.

George had a remarkable gift for making and fixing things. There seemed to be nothing he couldn’t figure out how to repair or create, often making something out of absolutely nothing. He was dependable, reliable, and the person you could always count on when you needed a helping hand.

But more than anything, George loved his family. He treasured fishing, spending time with family and friends, and most of all, making people laugh. He had a way of bringing joy wherever he went. George never met a stranger and treated everyone he crossed paths with as though they were family. He had the biggest heart and always made sure the people he loved were taken care of. He would do anything in his power to keep his family safe, happy, and cared for.

George was a man of faith whose kindness and love touched countless lives. He was a loving husband to his wife, Laurie Davis, a wonderful father to Brittney Duwe and Brandon Davis, and an even greater Papa to his grandchildren, Elijah Davis, Isaiah Davis, and Axel Davis.

He is also survived by his sibling, Willie Davis, along with many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

George will be remembered for his laughter, his generous spirit, his willingness to help anyone, his incredible ability to fix just about anything, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. He was the kind of man who made people feel safe, welcomed, and loved. He was a loving husband, a great father, an extraordinary Papa, a true friend, and an exceptional man.

Those who knew George loved him deeply, and his absence will be felt beyond words. His family and friends will miss his laughter, his stories, his helping hands, and most of all, the enormous heart he shared with everyone around him.

Though George may no longer be with us, the love he gave will never leave us. His memory will live on in his family, in the lessons he taught, in the laughter he created, and in every life he touched.

He may be gone, but his love is forever still alive.

Rest peacefully, George. You were loved beyond measure and will be missed more than words can ever express.
