Gerald Joseph Peltier, 88, of Ocean Springs, MS, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 24, 2026. Born on May 26, 1937, to Cleveland Peltier and Annabelle Latiolais Peltier, he was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Lillian Joyce Peltier, for 70 years, and a proud father to his sons Terry, Tommy, Anthony “Tony,” and Timothy.
A man of unwavering faith, integrity, and love, he also had a mischievous twinkle in his eye and an irresistible smile. He always had a joke ready to deliver or a story to tell. With an engineer’s mind, he could build or fix just about anything. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Gerald began his spiritual journey in 1980 when he devoted his life to Jesus and became a born‑again Christian. He attended Henderson Bible Church, and his faithful service later led him and his wife to Pensacola, FL, where he worked for several years in maintenance at Pensacola Christian College. They returned to the Gulf Coast in the early 2000s and later became active members of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Biloxi.
Mr. Peltier is preceded in death and now reunited with his parents; seven of his eleven siblings; his wife; his sons Terry, Tommy, and Timmy; and his great‑grandson Conner Bond.
He is survived by his son Anthony “Tony” (Connie); his siblings Grace Fontenot, Carroll Peltier, and Kathy Danjean; his ten grandchildren—Tammy Naquin (Bubba), Troy Peltier (Jessica), Tonia Peltier, Todd Peltier (Michelle), Travis Peltier, Torry Peltier (Angela), Tabitha Bond (Chris), Terrance Peltier, Tony Peltier, and Alexandria Cortner (Joshua); thirty‑one great‑grandchildren; twelve great‑great‑grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Peltier was a member of the Plumbing and Pipefitter Local 60 for over 50 years. His favorite pastimes were golfing and motorcycle riding—activities he enjoyed until just the last couple of years. His ability to fix nearly anything often found him at a neighbor’s, friend’s, or family member’s home, engineering a solution to whatever problem needed solving.
Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs on Friday, March 6, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all who visited the hospital, as well as the nurses and staff at Ocean Springs Hospital and its SICU, and to River Chase Village for the care and compassion shown to him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to BEAMS Bible Education and Missionary Service – beamsbibles.com, an organization that sends Bibles to children around the world where access to Scripture is limited, spreading God’s love and faith.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Gerald Joseph Peltier
