Gloria Myrick Fore, age 84, of Gulfport, MS, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was affectionately known to many as “Ms. Glo”.
She was born in Petal, MS and moved to Gulfport after her marriage to Bill. Gloria worked at Sears (downtown and Edgewater Mall) for 37 years. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteer work at Gulfport Memorial Hospital where she logged in 7,000 hours. She enjoyed buying jewelry for the gift shop and serving on the board. Gloria was proud to be called a “Pink Lady”. She loved her weekly exercise group with many dear friends and her lunches with the “Sears girls”. Gloria was a member of First Baptist Church Gulfport since 1954, where she was always quick to make a cake or food for someone sick, for a bereaved family or a church social. Her smile and love for life will be missed by all of us.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. “Bill” Fore, Jr.; her daughter, Janice Fore; her parents, Grover and Selma Myrick; and her two brothers, Cleveland “Sonny” Myrick and John “Kendall” Myrick.
Gloria is survived by her loving family; her son, William “Billy” (Mariane) Fore, III; her daughter, Cindy Fore; her three grandchildren, Brianne Clay, Nathan Clay and Kristen Scarfuto; her three great-grandchildren, Morgan Fielder, Landon Fielder and Jaxin Clay; many nieces and nephews; and her “adoptive sons”, Dale Kizer and John Kizer.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home Chapel, 15th St., Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 11:30 am. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
