Gloria Dandridge Kelley, 90, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Gloria was born July 24, 1927 in Macon, Georgia. She lived in Senatobia, MS until going away to college. Gloria graduated from Ole Miss in 1949. She taught second grade in Gulfport for many years - first at West Ward and then at Pass Road Elementary. After retirement, she lived the remainder of her life here in Gulfport enjoying her church, reading, and traveling to be with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Dandridge of Senatobia, MS.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John Kelley; her daughter, Sophye (Johnnie) Wimpee of Melbourne, FL; her son, Phil Kelley of Gulfport; her granddaughter, Sarah (Brian) Lawson of Nashville, TN and grandson, Adam Wimpee of Palm Bay, FL.
The family would like to thank the staff of Seashore Highlands and Gulfport Care Center for the care given to Gloria.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Mississippi Chapter, 232 Market Street, 2nd floor, Flowood, MS 39232.
