Gloria Madeline Powell, age 86, of Biloxi died Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Gloria was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast and a member of Nativity B.V.M.
She is preceded in death by parents, Morgan and Anita Sprinkles; husband, Edward C. Powell, Sr.; sisters, Lucille Battaya, Henrietta Fountain, Irma Seymour, Louise Fountain and Mercedes Trochesset; daughter-in-law, Sandra Thornton; great great grandchild, Maycie Thornton; and grandson, Roy Taylor.
Survivors include daughter, Darlene Monk; sons, Patrick Thornton, Sr. and Edward C. “Rev Red” Powell; sister-in-law, Jane McDonald; grandchildren, Kimberly Freche (Donnie), Patrick Thornton, Jr.(Mary), Laurie Taylor, Tami Monk (Preston Wills), and Trey Powell; great grandchildren, Jennifer Freche, Amy Pitalo (Anthony), Justin Freche, Sydni Wills, Patrick Thornton, III; Meghan Lynch (Adam), Dustin Thornton, Summer Thornton, Kayleigh Brickley (Brian), Amber Thornton and Joshua Taylor; great great grandchildren, Ethan and Elijah Mills, A.J. Andrew, Ava Pitalo, Tabitha Lynch, and Mackynzie and Brayden Thornton.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Gloria’s caregivers, Dale and Henrietta.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Nativity B.V.M. on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 9:30 until Mass. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
