Gloria Murguia Quave was surrounded by her loving family when she went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 9, 2016. She was born in San Antonio, TX where she met and married her husband, Lynrose Fabian Quave, Sr of D’Iberville, MS. In 1945 she became a resident of D’Iberville, Ms. Gloria was very active in Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Red Hats Society where she enjoyed many events with her friends, The Elks Lodge, The Moose Lodge, and The Senior Center, with ceramics being her passion. Gloria was also known for her love of gardening and for having a yard that was admired by all. She loved to travel, shop, and camp with her family and many friends. Gloria loved life itself but adored the holidays, with Christmas and Mardi Gras being her favorite. Her contagious smile and humor will be missed by all.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Lynrose Fabian Quave, Sr; parents, Angela Barrios Murguia and Refugio “Oscar” Murguia; siblings, Benny Murguia, Richard Murguia, and Consuelo (Connie) Ricondo; son-in-law, Michael Joseph “Joey’ Suarez, Sr and Emile Louis “Junie” Desporte III; grandchildren, Emile Louis Desporte IV “Little Junie”, Catrina Lamey Shook, Joseph Beaugez, and Kole Dylan Nitz.
She is survived by her seven children, Sylvia Lamey (Chester), Lynrose Quave Jr, Brenda Beaugez (Calvin), Angela Desporte, Lema Havard (Ron), Pete Quave (Debbie), and Charmaine Lancon (Joe); 19 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sister in laws, Mary Ann Rhodes and Catalina “Katie” Murguia.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lakeview Nursing Center for their loving care that was given to their mother. A special thanks to her granddaughter and husband, Crystal and Crisper Stanford for all of their devoted time and love.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be made to St. Jude’s or The Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Avenue, FL17, Chicago, IL 60601.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. in the church hall. A private graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery will be held at a later date. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
