Gregory “Greg” Simmons of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at the age of 51.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Roy Simmons of Moss Point. He is survived by his sister, Deborah Winstead Creel (Larry); brother, Joseph Roy Simmons; and aunts, Mary Parker, Rosie Hall and Eva Hayden. Greg also is survived by nieces, Tammy Winstead, Tracy Walters (Kevin), and Lorie Ribble (Brian); one nephew, Ricky Winstead (Dianna); great nieces, Brittni Sirmon, Megan Sirmon, Katelyn Winstead and Breanna Walters; great nephews, Jon Walters, Chris Walters, Josh Walters, Dylan Winstead and Caleb Winstead; great, great nephew, Mayson Manns; and honorary family and friends Kerry Clark, Patricia Buckner and Willow.
Greg was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He graduated from Moss Point High School and attended the University of Southern, MS, where he studied communications. A lover of books, Greg worked many years at the Pascagoula Library. He participated in the “Little Theater” productions. Greg had a wonderful personality and imagination. His love of Steven King to Rocky Horror movies made him a joy to be around and kept everyone entertained.
Visitation and a Celebration of His Life will be held at the Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs on Saturday, May 10th, 2014 from 10AM until Noon.
