Guy Arthur Garriga, 75, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
He was born in Fayette, Alabama, and raised in Caledonia, Mississippi.
Guy began his service to his country and community at a young age. After graduation, he proudly served in the Army National Guard. He later worked as a firefighter for two years before beginning his career in law enforcement. Guy went on to serve with dedication and honor as a police officer with the Gulfport Police Department for 18 years. While in service, he received numerous awards and honors, including Top 5 and Top 10 Sharpshooter Awards presented by the Governor.
Guy devoted himself wholeheartedly to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather—roles that brought him his greatest joy. To his family, he was the very definition of love and, in their opinion, the reason the phrase “all my heart” was created—because he truly loved with ALL his heart. He wasn’t just a father—he was the Daddy every child dreams of. To his daughters, he could have hung the moon and stars if they asked. He was truly their Hero.
In his free time, Guy could often be found riding his motorcycle with his friends and brothers in Blue with the Blue Knights Motorcycle Club. Whether in his truck with his girls or on his bike, he was always singing his favorite gospel and country songs, cracking jokes, and filling every moment with laughter. A true jokester with a heart of gold, he was rarely seen without a smile. He was the kind of man who set the standard—a man whose hugs and handshakes meant everything, whose laughter filled the room, and whose presence made you feel safe.
Guy was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Wright; father, Joseph Asa Garriga; and stepfather, Johnny Wright.
He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie Garriga; daughters, Sara Denham (Greg), Elizabeth Osburn (Clay), Christina Garriga (Stephen); his honorary daughter, Ginger Gladney (Bobby); cherished grandchildren, Elisa, Lexi, Emma, Bentleigh, Ryan, Cam, and Maddie; great-grandchildren, Jensen and Elena; siblings, Carey “Hoot” Garriga (Sharon), Jeff Wright (Missy), Pam Wright, Jimmy Wright, and Donna Vasquez (Carlos); along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Though our world feels emptier without him, we find comfort in the memories he left us, the values he instilled, and the love that will live on in our family forever. Guy lived every day with "All his heart,” and that will forever live on in his legacy in the lives of his wife, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him.
