SMSG- Harold Francis Gordon, a beloved partner, husband, devoted father and grandfather, friend, and dedicated patriot, soared into the heavens on May 10, 2024, at the age of 82, bidding adieu to his earthly journey in Columbus, Ohio. Born on January 17, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio. Harold embarked on a life rich with service, love, and cherished memories.
A graduate of Philo High School in 1960, Harold wasted no time in answering his nation's call. Joining the Air Force, he embarked on a 20-year journey of selfless service, exemplifying duty and honor in many different departments, including the DEA. Not content with one chapter of service, Harold continued his commitment by joining the Air National Guard, where he served for an additional 13 years, as a Radar Technician, adding to his legacy of dedication.
It was during his time in the dental field that Harold encountered the love of his life, Patsy A. Gordon. Their union was one of unwavering devotion, spanning three decades until Patsy's passing. Together, they built a family of eleven children, nurturing bonds that were unbreakable.
Harold's commitment extended beyond his family; he was a proud member of the Gold Wing Riders Association, the Legion, VFW, and the Moose Lodge, where his camaraderie and spirit shone brightly.
In his leisure time, Harold found solace in the company of friends on the golf course, enjoying a few beers and the camaraderie of his fellow servicemen of the 255th Unit. His love for family and friends was boundless, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
Following Patsy's passing, Harold found solace in the companionship of Myrna Fesler, a love story that blossomed amidst shared laughter and shared moments. Their adventures took them across the globe, dancing through life's joys and sorrows with unwavering devotion.
Harold's legacy is one of service, love, and resilience. His memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Harold will be reuniting with his mother and father, Margaret “Peg” and Carl Gordon; his wife, Patsy; his brother, Dale Gordon; his sister, Arlene Hartman; his daughter, Christina Myers; his son, John Rusnak; and his granddaughter, Courtney Campbell.
Harold is survived by his sisters, Joy Ryan of Duncan Falls, Ohio and Joan Gordon of Ruston, Louisiana; his children, Michelle (Dink) McVay of Coshocton, Ohio, Christopher Rusnak of Gulfport, Mississippi, Misty Caulfield of Biloxi, Mississippi, Brian (Jessica) Campbell of Zanesville, Ohio, Tim Campbell of Zanesville, Ohio, Jeff (Liz) Campbell of Hockley, Texas, Cindy Thomas of Zanesville, Ohio, Mike Campbell and Yvonne (Joe) Sidwell of Frazeysburgh, Ohio; 30 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In honor of Harold's memory, let us remember his unwavering commitment to family, his country, and love, carrying forth his legacy with grace and gratitude. Though your journey here may have ended, your legacy will endure for eternity.
Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS. 39531 on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Mckinney, John Turner, David Kendrick, Mike Ouellette, Randy Hixson, Dave Oglesby, Bill Majure and Jason Cooksey.
