Harry Hillensbeck, Jr.

Harry "Jack" Hillensbeck, Jr., 75, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Memorial Driftwood Nursing Center.

Jack was born on June 3, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Harry Jack Hillensbeck, Sr. and Lucille Burleson. He was later lovingly raised by his mother and stepfather, Charles Burleson. He graduated from Shannon High School and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 24 years including a tour of duty in Vietnam, from 1970 until his retirement in 1994. Following his military career, Jack worked as a workers' compensation investigator and later served with the Biloxi Housing Authority.

Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and was a proud member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. He also enjoyed camping, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories they will cherish for years to come.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Jack Hillensbeck, Sr.; his mother, Lucille Burleson; and his stepfather, Charles Burleson.

Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sherry Hillensbeck; his children, Preston "Kirk" Hillensbeck and his wife Rachel and Deborah Hillensbeck Johnson and her husband James; his treasured grandchildren, Seth Knebel, Landon Johnson, Elijah Hillensbeck, Josiah Hillensbeck, and Ruah Hillensbeck; his siblings, Douglas Hillensbeck, Sharon Miller, Donna Bosken, and Vallerie Whitten; and his faithful companion, Ellie Mae.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Memorial Driftwood Nursing Center for the love, kindness, and compassionate care they provided Jack during his time there.

Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Biloxi on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Following the service, Jack will be laid to rest with military honors at Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Biloxi Baptist Church and designated for the Bibles for Children Fund.

Jack will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his faithful service to his country, his adventurous spirit, and the kindness and friendship he shared with all who knew him. His legacy of service, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
