Dr. Helen Hetrick Graham, age 88, died peacefully in Gulfport on Tuesday, April 5. She was a resident in Gulfport for 55 years. She was a teacher and guidance counselor at Gulfport High School, followed by 20 years in a private practice of psychotherapy.
She was a graduate of USM with four degrees. Later she earned her doctorate in psychotherapy at Auburn University where she served as coordinator of foreign graduate students in their doctorial studies.
After her retirement she joined her husband, Dr. Edwin Graham, as the lecturers on major cruise ships departing from the ports in America.
Dr. Graham was preceded in death by her parents Will and Lockie Hill, her husband of 52 years, Oakley Hetrick, her brother Howard Hill, and her son David Hetrick.
She is survived by two sisters, Hazel Billington in Florida, Lillian Beard in Ohio, and two sons, Don in Louisiana, and Dale in Mississippi, and her husband, Dr. Edwin Graham in Gulfport.
Dr. Graham made arrangements to donate her body to the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson, where she and her husband had lectured many times to the medical students.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters By-The-Sea, with a reception following in the parish hall.
