Helen Earline Howington

Helen Earline Howington, of the MS Gulf Coast, passed away on December 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Brookhaven, MS, 99 years ago. Earline attended Copiah Jr. College and The University of Southern Mississippi, where she studied secretarial business.

In 1946, following WWII, Earline married Paul Howington and, over the next 63 years, had 3 children, Gary, Deborah, and Jimmy; two grandchildren, Angel Goldberg (Howard) and Brandon Howington; and three great-grandchildren, Heath, Josh, and Gabe Goldberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ola and Zebbie Nordan; her son, Gary; and her husband, Paul.

Earline and her husband lived in Jackson, MS where they ran a family business for 32 years. She was an enthusiastic follower of her faith and dedicated to church membership. She loved good gospel music. A gentle soul, Earline loved to laugh and to care for her family. She will be greatly missed.

The family wants to extend a sincere appreciation for services rendered by Salus Home Care, Home Helpers Home Care, and Traditions Health Hospice.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date where Earline will be laid to rest next to her husband. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Helen Earline Howington.
