Henry Walter Davis, age 97, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 in Vancleave, MS.
Henry was born July 4, 1920 and lived in Vancleave most of his life. He was the son of Howard W. and Sabra H. Davis of Vancleave. They were the parents of seven children, all deceased except Kathryn Davis Campbell of Jonesville, LA. She is married to the former Donald Campbell, of the same city.
Henry was married to Evelyn McEwen of McComb, MS for 67 years. They were the parents of three children, Wayne Davis, Patricia Davis Cole, deceased, and Wayne is married to Diny Tillman and they were the parents of one child, Brandi Davis, deceased. Carolyn is married to Dennis Freeman and they are the parents of two children, Logan Freeman and Brittany Freeman Hines. They are the parents of two children, Bella and Ryker.
Henry graduated from Vancleave High School and Perkinston Junior College. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Vancleave, a member of the Ezel Masonic Lodge of Vancleave for over 65 years, and a member of the American Legion for many years.
After his schooling, he worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding of Pascagoula, MS, served years before joining the U.S. Air Force. He worked for International Paper Company of Moss Point, MS as pulpwood contractor for 30 years. He also owned a Chevron gas station in Vancleave. He loved to hunt and fish, especially deer hunt, having some of the first deer hounds in Mississippi, named "Big Blood."

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with an 11:00 a.m. service, all Friday, November 24, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Vancleave. Interment will follow at Vancleave #1 Cemetery.
