Henry Havens Carter

Henry Havens Carter (Old Man Carter/Cowboy) was called home on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Havens was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wilson Carter; parents, James and Katie Carter; two sisters, Betty J. Jennings and Mary Katherine Austin; and son-in-law, Johnny Busby. He leaves to cherish his memories five children: Henry Clifton Carter, Mary Carter O'Brien, Becky (Bobby) Hooker and Teresa Carter Busby all of Vancleave, MS., and Kaye Carter of Ocean Springs, MS.; eight grandchildren: Andy (Kim) Philmon; Katie Ann (Bill) Wise; Mark Carter; Billy Joe (Maegan) Hooker; Jesse Hooker; Jenny (Brad) Sims; Amanda Carter (fiance', Bobby Theriot); Hattie (Jacob) Hilton. Fifteen great grandchildren: Shamus Philmon, Rylee Golding; Dameon, Wyatt and Lane Wise, Kayla and Garret Hooker, Chelsea, Chase, Wade and Paige Sims, Baylen Hooker, and Jodi and Shyla Theriot, and Maddie Hilton; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 6:00 PM~ 8:00 PM at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe. Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe. Interment will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
