Herschel Doyad Vail, Jr.

Mr. Herschel Doyad Vail, Jr., age 76, of Ocean Springs, MS. died Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Vail was a resident of the community for thirty years. He was a native of Laurel, Indiana, and retired from the USAF with 27 years of service. He was an aircraft mechanic his whole career. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Frances Vail and two brothers, Ronnie Vail and Kenny Wayne Vail. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Rose Marie Vail, four sons, David (Bev) Vail, Jeff (Priscilla) Vail, John (Sandy) Vail, and Paul (Susie) Vail, two stepsons, David (Janet) Parker and Scott (Amber) Parker, eight sisters, Pat (Gene) Allen, Gloria (Clyde) Linville, Doris (Larry) Dice, Debbie (Roy) Grizell, Francie (Mark) Issacs, Judy (Tony) Hauntz, Beverly (Ken) Fromm and Cindy (Don) Ash, two brothers, Harry Vail and Donnie (Teresa) Vail, two grandchildren, Branden and Meaghan, stepgrandchildren, Cody, Katie, Brooklynn, Billy and Hailey Parker and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29, 2011, from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm, with a 1:30 pm chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to ones' favorite charity.
