Hershel “Rich” Arnold Richards, age 77, of Gulfport, MS, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
Rich was born on March 5, 1939 in Gulfport, MS, he grew up in Woolmarket, and graduated from Woolmarket High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. Rich enjoyed fishing and drag and stock car racing.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Magdeline “Maggie” Miller Richards, and father, Hershel Ammon Richards; a first wife, Antonette D’Amico Richards; children, Louis Gonsalves, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Gonsalves; brother, Donald Richards.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Richards; children, Jason Paul Richards, Ann Marie (Robert) Edwards, Romelle (Burnis) Page and Bruce (Peggy) Gonsalves; and grandchildren, Jace and Landon Richards, Mark, Rachel, Aaron, Jeana, and Robbie Edwards, Tonia Wood, Elaina Hartley, Jason Aubin, Tammy Dedeaux, Christina Mann, Kevin Sevin, Romelle, David, Bridgette, and Louis Peterman, Sarah Albritton, Leah Riordan, and Adam Page.
Services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on O’Neal Road in Gulfport. Family and friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Coalville Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. Pallbearers will include Aaron Edwards, Mark Edwards, Casey Hartley, Donnie Hartley, David Peterman, Sr., Burnis Page, and David Peterman, Jr. Reception will be held at 313 Robert Dale Drive Gulfport, MS 39503 after graveside service.
