Hilda Finley Walton

On August 7, 2026, Hilda Finley Walton, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away at her home at the age of 83.

Born January 27, 1943, Hilda was a native of Mobile, Alabama. She gave her life to Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord and her family and will always be remembered for her loving, caring, and compassionate spirit.

For many years, Hilda worked as a childcare provider, touching the lives of many children with her love, patience, and nurturing heart. She also loved gardening and found great joy in caring for her plants and watching them grow.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie Bush and Carrie Gordon; her first husband, Carol J. Finley; her second husband, Linton Walton; and her sisters, Rutha Mae Bush and Lonnie Mae Edwards.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Gregory Finley Sr. (Arleen Finley), Clemencia Williams, Eleanor Davis (Eddie Davis devoted son-in-law), and McArthur J. Finley (Melissa Finley). She also leaves her devoted nephews, JoJo Bush (Rhonda) and Terrell Bush (Ivie), whom she lovingly raised and cared for as her own.

Hilda is also survived by her brothers, MacArthur J. Bush and Ernest Bush (Willene); 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren expected; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Hilda leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, family, and caring for others. The many lives she touched will continue to carry her memory for generations to come.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 7234 Gorenflo Road, Biloxi, Mississippi 39532. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.

Immediately following the interment service a repast will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church.
