Horace Bond

Horace Bond, age 76, of Gulfport died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in Gulfport. He was born in Gulfport and was a lifelong resident of the Coast. He retired as a foreman from Irby Steel where he was employed for 40 years. He previously served in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his father, A. W. Bond; two brothers; three sisters; and his first wife, Helen Bond. Mr. Bond is survived by his wife, Syble W. Bond; a daughter, Nancy Hicks (Loyd); two sons, Horace R. “Buddy” Bond, Jr. (Candi), James Bond (Joy); 3 sisters, Bonnie, Kay, Barbara; two brothers, Avin and Charles; his mother, Georgia Bond; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Seaborn Bond Cemetery in Stone County.
