Iris Jane Orr Heinrich, age 78, of North Biloxi passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, April 3, 2016, the 21st anniversary of her mother’s passing.
Iris was born September 27, 1937 in Oak Grove, Al. She was a stay at home mom and a faithful member of Lemoyne Boulevard Baptist Church. She served as a deacon’s wife and served faithfully in the church. During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, she prepared meals and delivered supplies for countless people. She graduated from St. Martin High School, Class of 1957. She remained close to several of her classmates and enjoyed monthly lunches with them. Iris enjoyed attending Sunday services and other numerous activities at Greenbriar, where she had resided since 2009. During her stay, she was Mardi Gras Maid for several years, and Mardi Gras Queen in 2012. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Iris is preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Edwin “Sonny” Heinrich; parents, Robert and Beryl Orr; and siblings, James Orr, Robert Orr, Bernice Granger and Mavis Scheffler.
Survivors include her daughter, Stacey (Greg) Smith; sons, Bobby (Lisa) Heinrich, Ricky (Pam) Heinrich, Timmy (Tena) Heinrich; sisters, Amelia Smith and Winnie Fay Triplett; brothers, Dean Orr, Sammy (Jeanne) Orr, Billy (Sandy) Orr, Tommy Orr, Earl Orr and Jude Francis; 12 grandchildren, Anthony, Meghan, Josh, Joy, Sean, Rebecca, Cody, Cassie, Emilee, Chase, Ashton, and Collin; and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Lemoyne Boulevard Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., led by her dear friend and pastor, Brother Bill Renick. Friends may visit one hour prior. A graveside service will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
