James Edward Cantrell, age 54, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Friday, July 1, 2022 in Long Beach, MS.
James was born on September 4, 1967 in Fresno, CA. He was a high school graduate and served in the U.S. Navy from 1987-1991 on the USS Biddle where he received many military decorations. He was a Mustang/Muscle Car Enthusiast and was a member of the Shelby Mustang Club.
James is preceded in death by his father, Felix W. Cantrell, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Tina M. Cantrell; siblings, Felix W. Cantrell, Jr. (Kara Cantrell) and Halana Quave (Glen “Hippy” Hopkins); nephews and nieces, Felix W. Cantrell, III and Stephanie A Cantrell, Joshua J. Quave and Korey A. Quave; and multiple grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made to The American Cancer Society or to any Veterans organization of your choice in his memory.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street in Gulfport at 10:00 a.m. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
