James Francis “Jimmy” Davis, 86, of Gulfport, MS passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in Gulfport.
Jimmy was born and raised in Biloxi and graduated from Biloxi High School. He served 8 years in the Naval Reserves. Jimmy retired from Borden’s Milk Company after 42 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing cards, Sudoku and neighborhood gatherings with the Jones, Ward, Brown and Locke families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph I. Davis and Dilta Davis St. Louis; his step father, Donald St. Louis; his grandparents, Francis I. Davis and Anna Crosland Davis and Alexandre LeBlanc and Alida LeBlanc; his brothers, Sidney Davis and Bobby Ray Davis; his grandson, Jason Davis; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Carlene; his children, Brent Davis (Wendy), Tommy Davis, James Davis (Lynn), Mark Davis (Samantha), Alan Davis (Janet), Glen Davis (Kathy) and Cathleen (Jeffrey) Cartier; his brother, Joseph I. Davis, Jr. (Shelby); his step brother, Jim St. Louis (Bev); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the medical staff at Memorial Hospital Gulfport, Encompass Rehab, Vital Caring Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Eva Magiros and Molly Brown, NP.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Burial will be at a later date.
