James Jay Manly

James Jay Manly, age 80, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, unexpectedly.

James was born on June 23, 1943 to Burdett and Dorothy Manly.  After studying at the University of Miami,  James began a career in hotel management.  He was also a lobbyist for small businesses.

In 2022, James met his wife, Linda Ladner Manly.  He enjoyed retirement and spending his days boating with Linda and also took pleasure in a day with friends in the poker room.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Ann Inis Manly and two sons, Jimmy Manly and Jay Manly.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sister, Lisa; daughters Holly and Heidi; granddaughters Heather and Hannah and his beloved dog, Charlie.  All of these he loved and touched deeply.  James was big-hearted and vibrant.  He had an immense passion for family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Biloxi Pier on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply.  The family truly appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that in lieu of flowers please contribute by sharing memories on the guestbook below.
