MSgt. James Michael Ross, age 73, of North Biloxi, MS, joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, when he passed away on July 2, 2016. Mr. Ross was born in Amelia, Ohio and later moved to Williamsburg, KY where he met Hilda, who became the love of his life in 7th Grade. Mike and Hilda had been married for 47 years when she preceded him in death in 2009. Mr. Ross was also preceded in death by his parents, Mary McFarland and Harry Ross, his brother, Gary Ross and sister, Sharon French.
Mr. Ross is survived by his sons, David (Jeannette) Ross and Jeff Ross of North Biloxi, and daughter, Lisa (Lonnie) Suarez, of Vancleave, MS. Mr. Ross also leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his grandsons, Michael (Kristen) Suarez of Ocean Springs and Jeffrey Ross, Jr. of Fort Walton Beach, FL and two great grandchildren, Austin Michael Suarez and Emily Isabella Suarez of Ocean Springs. Mr. Ross is also survived by brothers, Wayne (Linda) Ross of Cincinnati, Ohio and Bob (Sharon) Ross of Tuckasegee, NC, and a sister, Rosemary Ross of Seviersville, TN.
Mr. Ross served his country in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years and as a Civil Service employee for another 20 years with the majority of this time spent as an instructor at Keesler Air Force Base.
In his spare time, Mr. Ross enjoyed traveling with his grandsons, playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends. Special memories were also made with longtime friends, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Frazier and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schlueter.
Mr. Ross was not only faithfully committed to his country, he was also faithfully committed to his beloved wife, Hilda. Unless Mr. Ross was out of town, he visited Hilda’s resting place daily and longed for the day he would join her again. As the children and grandchildren think of Mike and Hilda’s reunion in heaven, we find peace in knowing they are happily together for eternity where we will join them one day.
Visitation for friends will be on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. A private burial will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
