James Benedict “Jim” Redding, Jr., 66, of Saucier, MS passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Gulfport.
Jim was born in Bay St. Louis, MS to James B. Redding, Sr. and Ruth Snodgrass Redding on February 6, 1959. He graduated from Brother Martin High School in New Orleans, LA and enlisted in the US Navy. He was a Machinist Mate Second Class and received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation. His interests included politics, sci-fi, war games, Monty Python, fishing and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his spouse of 40 years, Theresa Redding; his children, Katherine Harper (Mark), Jennifer Redding (Travis); grandson James Harper; siblings Carolyn Boyle (John) and Sharon Kimble (Joseph); and pets Maria, Samantha and Frankie.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the O’Neal Road Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cedar Rest Cemetery in Bay St. Louis at a later date.
The family prefers donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
