James Arthur Thomson

Mr. James Arthur Thomson, age 89, of Pace, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Florida.

Mr. Thomson was born on June 16, 1935, in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late James Manley Thomson and Agnes Margurete Waddell Thomson. He attended school at Excelsior Springs High School in Missouri and attended William Carey College in Mississippi. He served in the United States Air Force as a technical sergeant. He worked as a radar technician for 20 years in the Air Force and civil service at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi. He was stationed at several places including Otis Air Force Base in Massachusetts, Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi, Tin City Air Force Station in Alaska, and Port Austin Air Force Station in Michigan.

Mr. Thomson was a was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree and 4th Degree. During his spare time, he enjoyed history, books, reading and driving.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Manley Thomson. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Arlene Thomson; his children, Norman (Frances), Nancy, Susan (Jim), and Donna (Robert); grandchildren, Greg Burton, Rebecca Barnes (Will), Jonathan Kiger (Erika), Joseph Kiger (Libby), Norman Thomson II (Tiffany), Angela Kiger (Derek), Jaron Kiger (Kaitie); and by his great grandchildren, Charlie Kiger, Penny Kiger, Dillon Kiger, Libby Gilmore, Lukas Gilmore, Liam Barnes, Ethan Barnes, Isabelle Barnes and Jonah Kiger.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. A private burial will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Mississippi at a later date.
