Jenell Theresa Bosarge Nungesser

Jenell Theresa Bosarge Nungesser went to eternal peace in heaven January 26, 2018 at the age of 76. Jenell was born on Sept. 11, 1941 in Biloxi, MS to Farrell and Leola Bosarge. She graduated in 1959 from Sacred Heart Girls High School. On July 23, 1960 she married the love of her life of 57 years, Ronald Thomas Nungesser. In addition to her parents, Jenell was preceded in death by her only daughter Gena Nungesser Collins and siblings Farrell Bosarge Jr., Jerries Bosarge and Carroll Bosarge. She is survived by her husband Ronald Thomas Nungesser; children George (Angela) Nungesser and Johnny (Mary) Nungesser; brother Ronnie Bosarge; grandchildren Mary Bates (Jason), Steven Powell, and Robert Nungesser; great grandchild Eli Bates. Jenell was a very talented and creative person. Her love for Mardi Gras was validated through her creative Mardi Gras design themes used in the Krewe of Neptune’s early years. She will always be remembered for the exquisite King and Queen Headpieces and trains she created in the 1970’s and 1980’s for several krewes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Another passion of hers was painting and drawing, family and friends could not get enough of her artwork. Jenell was a devoted wife and mother. She was a Team Mom for various sporting organizations that her children participated in back when Team Moms were virtually non-existent. Ours was the house where all the kids gathered and spent the night. You did not have to go any further than Jenell’s to see the love and sacrifice a mother has for her children and family, especially the immeasurable bond of love between a Mother and her daughter. For her children, she created a family environment that will always withstand the test of time. She told her children “Work hard for what you get and no lying, cheating, or stealing.” Jenell was a very kind and empathetic person with a soft heart. She was a true animal lover allowing the kids to have dogs, ducks, hamsters, and rabbits as pets throughout their childhood. She was always taking care of the stray cats in the neighborhood until her passing. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, D’Iberville. Friends may visit 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Steven Powell, Robert Nungesser, Greg Bosarge, Ricky Bosarge, Joey Bosarge, and Lee John Stokes.
