Jeremy Scott Forehand, 47, of Ocean Springs passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 after a courageous 8-year battle with cancer (#WrasslinCancer), surrounded by his loving wife and daughters at his home.
He was born on September 9, 1977, in Biloxi, Mississippi to William "Billy" Forehand, Jr. and Marlene Letort Forehand. He attended D’Iberville schools and graduated in 1996. He attended one year of college at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D’Iberville. He worked for 27 years at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in the Operations Department, eventually being promoted to the title of Director of Operations. His love of sports began as a child. Growing up, he played football, basketball, and baseball. In high school, he would then go on to play quarterback in football and catcher in baseball from 1993-1996. He was awarded the Scholar Athlete Award in 1996 for the Gulf Coast Chapter of the National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame. He was also chosen to play on the All-District football team in his senior year. He was nominated for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award in 1995. He was also selected to be Mr. DHS his senior year, an award he was very proud of, the D’Iberville High School Hall of Fame, and Most Athletic. He continued to remain involved in D’Iberville sports and was a member of the D’Iberville Chain Gang as well as the Paint Crew Posse for several years. When his daughters, Macey and Lanie, were members of the SMHS dance team, Jeremy started assisting with the St. Martin football team in order to spend his Friday nights supporting his daughters. Once his youngest daughter graduated, Jeremy returned once again to D’Iberville football and began radio commentating for the Warriors. Jeremy also began a postgame podcast through Talking Ball Y'all in 2022. He also developed a passion for MGCCC-Perk football and basketball when he started working with the sideline crew at Perk football games and as part of the crew for Perk basketball games. He was honored to receive the Spirit of Gulf Coast Award from MGCCC in 2023. Jeremy had a variety of interests, including wrestling, collecting Lego sets, all things Star Wars and Disney, listening to rap music, watching his favorite teams (Florida State Seminoles, Atlanta Braves, and the New Orleans Saints), and collecting hats. He had a love of Mardi Gras and was so excited to surprise his wife and family as a Duke for the Southernettes in 2011, and he was equally excited when his wife surprised him as a Maid this year. He loved spending time with friends and family, but he often stated that his favorite times were hanging out and making jokes with his beautiful wife, daughters, and their dog, Chipper. |
Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bud and Eleanor Forehand; his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Bernice Letort; his father, William “Billy” Forehand, Jr.; his father-in-law, William “Pee Wee” Barrett; and his brother-in-law, Alan French. |
