Jerry Lee Grissom

Jerry Lee Grissom, age 92, of Gulfport, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Jerry was born on September 11, 1931 in Laurel, MS to Lois Cox Tolbert and Jay Lee Tolbert. She met her husband of 67 years, James Calvin Grissom, at the age of 22 in St. Louis, MO, where she attended college. They were married two weeks later.

Jerry was a medical technician until she and James returned to the gulf coast. She was a daughter and grand matron of the Eastern Star, a member of the Order of the Rainbow, President of the Junior Auxiliary of Gulfport, Bridge Life Master, President of the Broadwater Women’s Golf Association, avid golfer at Windance Country Club, and bridge player.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; daughter, Candace; sister, Anna; and grandson, Michael Ellis Moses III.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Jaye Moses; granddaughter, Molly Jaye McGuffee (Justin); great-granddaughters, Charleston Lee and Sarah-Ellis Anne McGuffee; great-grandson, Liam Charles Moses; and beloved Pomeranian, Socks.

The family would like to thank Marilyn Turnage for her care and devotion to Jerry in her final days.
