Jerry A. Walters Sr.

Jerry A. Walters Sr., 83, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023. Jerry was born January 18, 1940 to Orvil and Garnet Walters.

Jerry was a native of Laurel, MS and a long-time resident of the MS Gulf Coast. He retired from the United States Army and later from Huntington Ingalls Shipyard as a Sup Ship. Jerry attended Emory University in Atlanta, GA and graduated with a Masters of Mathematics and Aeronautics. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Jean Walters; and his second wife, Elizabeth Walters.

Survivors include his daughters, Cynthia (Frederick) Mineo and Pagette (Michael) Chilcott; son, Jerry A. (Allyson) Walters II; sister, Eileen (Paul) Everett; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Legion #1992, 3824 Old Spanish Trail, Gautier, MS 39553.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the American Legion #1992 at 4:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at Monday, September 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with military honors.
