Jewell Hogan Zimmerman

Jewell Hogan Zimmerman, 84, of Ocean Springs went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. She was a resident of the Gulf Coast for the past 58 years. Jewell was one of the first Pediatric Nurse Practitioners in the state and worked for the MS State Department of Health. She enjoyed 26 rewarding years touching the lives of countless children and their families. She loved RVing, birding, gardening and beachcombing. Jewell was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Ocean Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Zimmerman; son, John Charles Hogan, Jr.; and sister, Wilma Dees. Jewell is survived by her daughters, Angie (Seren) Ainsworth and Cindy (Roger) Milford; and grandchildren, Ren Ainsworth and Britt Ainsworth. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Pascagoula River Audubon Center, 5107 Arthur St., Moss Point, MS 39563 or to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 800 Porter Ave., Ocean Springs, MS 39564. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit 1 hour prior to the service.
