Joan Elizabeth Stewart

Mrs. Joan Elizabeth Stewart, age 73, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019. Mrs. Stewart was born on January 23, 1946, in Oxford England. She moved to the United States at the age of 17. Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker and spouse of Gilbert Darrell Stewart for 52 years. She followed her husband who was in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1984. The Stewart's moved to Ocean Springs Mississippi in 1993 where they retired in 2004. Mrs. Stewart was proceeded in death by her son, Darrell Gilbert Stewart; and her husband, Gilbert Darrell Stewart. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Lynn Stewart-Gavin; son, Kevin Alan Stewart; brother, James Parker; sister, Margrett Parker; nine grandchildren, Ian Stewart, Adam Lease, Eric Lease, Tiffany Lease, Justin Lease, Nicole Stewart, Hailey Stewart, Donovan Stewart, and Silas Stewart; and five great-grandchildren, Trevor Lease, Tristen Lease, Parker Lease, Adina Lease, and Natalie Lease. On Friday, April 5th, there will be a 1pm graveside service at Crestlawn Memorial Park. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements. Chaplin Services will be provided by Retired Army Chaplin Jim Kirkendall.
