John Robert Moore

John Robert Moore, 88, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at his home in Gulfport.

He was born on April 13, 1938, in Selmer, TN to John T. Moore and Lora L. Moore (King). After completing high school and one year of college, John served his country in the US Marine Corp, the Tennessee Air National Guard and the US Navy and retired as a Master of Arms Chief. During his service, he received the Navy Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Medal. He enjoyed baseball.

John is preceded in death by his parents; his spouse, Annie Pearl Smith Moore; his siblings, James Laney, Milderd Long and Betty Cotner. Survivors include his children; Robert C. Moore, Robin L. Moore and John P. Moore; a granddaughter, Deanna R. Moore; and a sister, Lynn Smith.

A graveside service with Navy honors will be held on Monday, November 9, at 12:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS.
