Mr. John Marshall O’Neal, died at his home on Monday, January 1, 2018, in Vancleave, MS. He was 67 years old.
Johnny was born December 23, 1950, in Biloxi, MS. He graduated from St. Martin High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army starting in November 1969, serving in Vietnam in January 1971, and completed his service in February 1972. On his return to Mississippi, he completed the pipefitter apprenticeship program at Ingall’s Shipyard and continued his career in pipefitting, working in such places as Mississippi, Texas, Alaska, Florida, Virginia, and Washington, until he retired in 2009. He married Peggy Jackson on November 25, 1983. Johnny was an avid fisherman on the gulf coast and continued to do so in his retirement.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Jackson O’Neal; sons, Noah O’Neal and wife, Nicole, Michael O’Neal and wife, Bonnie, and Jack Muschinke; grandson, Tyler Mathes and wife, Randi; granddaughter, Madison Jumonville; his mother, Irene O’Neal Krohn; sister, Dora and her husband, Eugene Reed; sister, Rebecca and her husband, Johnny Galle.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall “Jack” O’Neal.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a service Monday, January 8, 2018 at 9:00 a.m., all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery, with military honors.
