Joseph C Koonce

Joseph C. Koonce, 79, of D’Iberville, MS, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021. Joseph was born August 24, 1942 in Biloxi, MS. He graduated from Our Mother of Sorrows High School. Joseph was an avid Saint’s fan and a regular at the casinos. He was also a 4th degree Knights of Peter Claver. Joseph was a Military Police Officer in the United States Army and also worked as a supervisor for Ferson Optics, a division of Bausch and Lomb.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Koonce and Fannie (Dudley) Koonce; his previous wife Catherine E. Koonce; and sister, Irma (Koonce) Wilson.

Survivors include his children, Joseph B. Koonce and Jeffrey L. Koonce; and siblings, Lois Bolton, Verdell Garrett, Doris Mills, and Fred Koonce.

A visitation will be held 10 AM- 12 PM, Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery.
