Joseph Lamar Seymour

Lamar Seymour, 84, of Latimer/Larue community, passed into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ, whom he accepted at the early age at Red Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was born in Larue to Joseph Seymour and Katie Mae Brown Seymour who preceded him in death as did an infant sister Vera and a grandson, Luke Dillon Seymour. He is survived by his wife, Janice Felsher Seymour whom he married on September 16, 1956 at the First Baptist Church of Biloxi. His children: Joseph Michael (Kerri) Seymour; Murriel Seymour (Bruce) Hindman; Martha Seymour; Matthew Ray (Julie) Seymour; Marshal Alfred Seymour; and Marvin Dale (Kris) Seymour. Grandchildren; Joseph Danial Seymour, Jeramy Seymour, Joshua Seymour, Jared Seymour, Rebecca "Becky" Hindman, Mattie Rae Seymour, Andrew Seymour, Kristina Joy Seymour and Step-grandchildren Arny Gollott, III and Todd Gollott. His sister; Dora Mae Seymour Bond, and brothers; Chester Seymour and Norwood Seymour. Lamar was a 32nd Degree Mason with Daisy Lodge #420 F. and A.M., Grand York Rite Bodies of MS., Daisy Vestry Chapter #381 Order of the Eastern Star. He served as a corporal in the Korean War 101st Infantry Division. He graduated from St Martin High School in 1947 and Perkinston Jr. College in 1949 with an associate degree in agriculture. Lamar retired in 1985 as a Chevron dealer after many years of service with Standard Oil of Kentucky later named Chevron to return home and his love for farming. Pallbearers will be; Michael Seymour, Matthew Seymour, Marvin Seymour, Daniel Seymour, Joshua Seymour and Jared Seymour. Officiating clergyman will be Brother John Miller, pastor of Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church and assisted by Dr. Ashley Austin, associated Pastor, Education of at First Baptist Church, Biloxi. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at the Howard Ave Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and service will be Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 at Howard Ave. Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Wilkerson Cemetery, Larue, Ms. View and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com View and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com
