Mr. Joseph Patrick "Chip" Houlihan, age 67, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016, in his home, with his wife by his side.
Chip was born in Troy, NY, the oldest of four children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Joseph Houlihan and Carolyn Frances Dean Houlihan and grandparents.
Chip leaves behind his faithful, devoted and loving wife, Fay Houlihan, children, Melody Anne (Doug) Houlihan-Le, Christopher David (Stacey) Patton, Jarrell Michael (Heather) Patton, Patricia Michelle (Ian) Chinn, Shara Lynn (Justin) Bengel, Shannon Leigh (Joel) Baer, and Stephen Michael (Rachael) Houlihan, brothers, Stephen (Dianne) Houlihan and Peter (Barbara) Houlihan, one sister, Margaret (Paul) Martinez, one aunt, Sister Patricia Houlihan, RSM, and thirteen grandchildren.
Chip proudly served his country for twenty years in the United States Air Force. Of the many awards he received he was most proud of twice being named Administrator of the Year. After retiring from the USAF he went on to work at Oracle and PeopleSoft. He was an adventurous soul who loved life and all he could explore. Music was a huge part of his life from an early age. He loved to write music, play one of his many guitars and sing. He was a very talented leather crafter and photographer. He loved to travel and share his experiences.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 5, from 12 Noon until 1:00 pm, with a 1:00 pm Memorial Service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
