Joy Ellen Coonradt

Joy Ellen Coonradt, 71, of Biloxi, MS passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024. Joy was born in San Diego, CA to Violet Millicent Moehler and George Radford Yount.

Joy joined the Air Force where she worked as a Master Sergeant of Electronic Warfare. She was one of the first women in Electronic Warfare. While in the Air Force, she graduated college with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a Desert Shield and Desert Storm veteran. Joy proudly served for 20 years before retiring and working in civil service for another 15 years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading and bowling.

Joy is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Oliver Coonradt; parents, George Yount and Violet Moehler; and sister, Connie Lynn Chaffee Bluteau.

Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Clarise Chaffee and her husband, Joshua Joel Chaffee; granddaughter, Tory Rachel Moore and her husband, Nicholas Joseph Moore; sister, Carla Sue Oakley and her husband, Ronald Lee; many nieces and nephews; and her loving pet, Taffy.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
