Joyce V Castor, 94, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 after a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tullus R Castor, in 2007; her parents Bartholomew and Lillian Spotorno; five siblings; and two nephews, Jean and Duane Rousseau.
She is survived by her daughters Victoria Stallard and husband David of Poquoson, VA and Catherine Ross and husband Randy of Gulfport, grandson David Stallard,Jr, wife Susan, and great grandchildren John Patrick, Benjamin, and Lindsay of Wise, VA; grandson Robert Stallard, wife Krysten, and great grandson Luke of Newport News, VA; grandson Thomas Arthur, wife Jaclyn and great grandson Tullus Joshua (T.J.) of Jackson; and grandson Paul Arthur, wife Elisabeth, great granddaughter Lauren and great grandson Alan of Louisville, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs Castor was a regular communicant at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Gulfport. She was also active with de l'Epee Deaf Center in Gulfport and the Ladies' Auxiliary BPOE 978 and the Elks Friday morning bingo.
Visitation will be at 10a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at St Joseph's Catholic Church on Depew Road, followed by Mass at 11a.m. Burial will follow at 1:30p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to de l'Epee Deaf Center or the St Vincent de Paul Society at St, Joseph's Catholic Church. She was fondly known as "the mac and cheese lady" for her food donations to these two food pantries.
