Joyce Evelyn "GiGi" McCarley

July 2, 1949 — May 27, 2026

Ocean Springs, MS

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Joyce Evelyn McCarley “GiGi”, who peacefully left this world on May 27, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on July 2, 1949, in Mobile, Alabama, Joyce was the cherished daughter of the late Leroy and Nina Seibert. Her life was a testament to love, family, and an unyielding spirit that touched everyone who knew her. Joyce was a proud graduate of Murphy High School, Class of 1967.

Her journey through life was filled with adventures and accomplishments that began as a devoted military wife, traveling across the country and working diligently as a bank teller on various Air Force Bases. Her commitment to her family and career culminated in her role as Vice President of McCarley Trucking, from which she retired before settling in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. This move brought her closer to her cherished sons and their families, a decision that filled her remaining years with joy and contentment.

Joyce's passions were as vast as her heart. She shared a lifelong love for fishing and Alabama Crimson Tide football, proudly holding season tickets and traveling in her RV to support her team. Her adventurous spirit led her and her husband to explore the world, from golfing on the lush courses of Scotland and Ireland to snowmobiling and skiing in the breathtaking landscapes of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Her love for animals was profound, and she dedicated her time to adoption and fostering, a testament to her nurturing nature.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, James Robert “J.R” McCarley, her brother Leroy "Joe" Seibert, and her grandniece Megan Nichole Money.

Joyce's legacy continues through her surviving family members. She leaves behind her devoted children and grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer) Burgess; Robert "Zachary," Christopher (Charlene Dauphin) Burgess; Andrew Dauphin, and Elijah Joseph Burgess, her caring sister, Barbara (Jerry) Money, and her kind sister-in-law, Cheryl Seibert. Joyce also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, and many beloved grand and great-grand nephews, nieces, and cousins whose lives she enriched with her love and wisdom.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be held on June 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church Community Center, located at 6300 McKenna Dr., Mobile, AL.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in her memory to the Jackson County Animal Shelter or the Mobile County Animal Shelter, both causes close to Joyce's heart.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the administration and staff of Greenbriar Skilled Nursing Facility for their loving and attentive care during Joyce's time there. Special gratitude is also extended to Deep South Region and Corpus Christi Catholic Church for their generosity and assistance in organizing her celebration of life.

Joyce "GiGi" McCarley will be remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and compassion. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and adventure that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
