Joycelyn Romero, age 75, of Biloxi, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Mrs. Romero was a long-time resident of the MS Gulf Coast. Though small in stature, she had a larger-than-life personality, beautiful, big green eyes, and a spirit no one could forget. In her youth, she was widely known for her flawless beauty and her ability to light up any room she walked into. She was an incredibly talented cook and baker; her lasagna, gumbo, and tiramisu will be remembered and missed by anyone who was lucky enough to be at her table. She will be remembered for her generosity, her humor, her feistiness, and the way she never missed an opportunity to tell the people that loved her that they were loved in return. Mrs. Romero will be deeply missed by her family and her chunky dog, who will also miss all the scraps she'd sneak him from every meal she ate.
Mrs. Romero is preceded in death by her parents, Rose Tortorella and Angelo Palmisano; her sister, Ann Palmisano; and her son, Emile Louise Desporte IV.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Romero; 3 children, Hannah Romero, Angel Harrelson, and Joseph Seymour; her 4 sisters, Rosalie Bacchus, Glenda Quave, Leslie Palmisano, and Terry Palmisano; her 3 brothers, Tony Palmisano, Mark Palmisano, and Steve Palmisano; her granddaughter, Colby Cantrell; her grandson, Myles Seymour; her great granddaughter, Junie Rose Cantrell; and her beloved dog, Taz Romero.
