Juan "Randy" Randall Lesso, Sr.

Randy Lesso, born June 20, 1957, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026, in his sleep, surrounded by his beloved wife, Judy, and the loved ones who meant so much to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose life was centered around his family, his faith, and the Gulf Coast he loved.

Known as Captain Randy, he spent many years as a commercial fisherman, shrimping and oystering. He took great pride in his work and in 2014 was honored as Shrimp King. After retiring from the sea, he continued working for Swetman Security Company. Alongside his love of fishing, Randy enjoyed deer hunting in Grenada, Mississippi, where he made many cherished memories. Randy met Judy as a teenager, and they shared 52 years of love and life together. They were truly the love of each other’s lives, standing beside one another through every season.

He was the proud father of the late Brandy Michele Hebert and Randy Lesso Jr., affectionately known as Little Randy. He cherished his grandchildren: Crislen (Jonathon) Cox, Christian (Miranda) Lesso, Cameren Trochesset, Alexis (Cendall) Huynh, Peyton Hebert, and Keirstyn Lesso. Randy was also a proud great-grandfather to Elias Cox, son of Crislen; Scarlet Lesso, Maverick Lesso, and Aurora Lesso, children of Christian; Dakota Trochesset, son of Cameren; and Hazleigh Huynh and Havyn Huynh, daughters of Alexis.

A devout Catholic, Randy was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Cursillo Movement of South Mississippi, and C.Y.R.O. He was also an honorary member of the Fleur De Lis French Club and a member of the Slavonian Lodge. Those who knew Randy will remember his bright smile, strong work ethic, stories, generous spirit, and love of the outdoors. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and the memories he created will not be forgotten.

Randy was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Brandy Michele Hebert; his parents, Lucille Adams and Joseph B. Lesso Sr.; his grandparents, Christine and Irvin Adams; his brother, Victor “Bear” Roby; his mother- and father-in-law, Vera and William “Bill” Ross; and two very special people who held a cherished place in his life, Ophelia and Tommy Schultz Sr.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy Lesso; his son, Randy Lesso Jr.; his grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, JoAnn (Jim) Arnold, Joseph B. Lesso Jr., Jeannie Lesso DeGeorge, Michael (Kimberly) Lesso, Ellie (Nick) Tapp, and Monona Melchiona; and many special nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Randy's name to St. Michael Catholic Church Building Fund.

Randy leaves behind a life filled with love, faith, family, hard work, and memories that will last for generations. His family finds comfort knowing that he is now welcomed into Heaven with open arms, reunited with his daughter and other loved ones who went before him, and resting peacefully in God’s care.

May he rest in eternal peace, and may the waters he loved so dearly carry him home.
