Biloxi

Judith Gail “Judy” Reardon was born on May 7, 1937, in Detroit, MI, and passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Biloxi, MS.

Judy Spent the last 13 years as a resident of Santa Maria del Mar in Biloxi. She passed while enjoying a meal at one of her favorite places – McElroy’s Harbor House in Biloxi – a restaurant that held many happy memories for her over the years, including special occasions like birthdays and Mothers Days.

In her early years, Judy pursued a college degree, later returning to her studies with determination and heart. She came within three courses of completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a subject that reflected her interest in people and the world around her.

Professionally, Judy’s favorite work was as a nightclub entertainer, performing on the Hammond X-77 organ. In the late 1970’s, she played venues around St. Petersburg Beach, Clearwater Beach, and Treasure Island, Florida, sharing the scene with other performers of the time – including a young Jim Stafford, who often commiserated with her between his nightclub sets and wherever she happened to be playing. Later in life, Judy found her greatest joy in family – especially in her cherished role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She lovingly made it a year-round project to keep track of every birthday, picking out small gifts tailored to each person. Her gift-giving became such a signature of her care that she was on a first-name basis with many of the operators at Home Shopping Network and QVC.

Judy also loved getting around town several times a month using the Harrison County Coast Transit Authority Demand Response buses, and we will be forever grateful to them for helping make her final years more enjoyable.

Judy will be remembered for her boisterous personality and her big heart that finally gave out only after a lifetime of pouring it out on the people she loved and celebrated.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Osborn and Grace Osborn and her brother, Charles E. Osborn, Jr.

Survivors include her sister, Suzanne Stewart, sons, Walt, Kevin, and Kerry Reardon and her daughter, Cheryl Murdock. Judy left behind seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Judy left specific instructions for no services as she wanted everyone to remember her as she was and “go about your day with no fuss.” But she did treasure all her wonderful family and those who came to know her as a friend or simply “Miss Judy.”

No special requests were made – she would have wanted everyone to simply carry on with life. We also want to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff and several diners at McElroy’s Harbor House who stepped in to help and did everything they could to make her comfortable. We know we’re leaving some people out, but we especially want to thank the entire staff of McElroy’s Harbor House; Connie, who began CPR; and Angela who continued it. Thank you as well to Tonya and Ken from North Carolina, who prayed with us and helped get things to the car before we left for the ER at Memorial Hospital Biloxi. We’re also deeply grateful to Brittany Huffman for their wonderful, prayerful support, and to the firefighters and EMT’s with Pafford who responded so quickly. Thank you to the nurse and doctor who cared for our mother in her final minutes here on Earth. In these last weeks – before, during, and after her heart procedure at Memorial, Gulfport – so many of you prayed. We’re hopeful those prayers helped bring her to Christ, and we hold close the moment she seemed to share that with her grandson as they chatted while he was preparing a sermon in the days before she passed.
