Julia Bernice Brown

Julia Bernice Brown, age 88, of Woolmarket, MS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Bernice was a strong, hard-working, and loving lady who was dedicated to God and to her family. She was a long-time member of Woolmarket Baptist Church. Bernice owned her own salon in Biloxi, MS (Bernice at Fountain Square) for many years. She then became co-owner of Anchor Linen & Supply in Biloxi, MS. She enjoyed her retirement years by loving her family, cooking amazing food, tending to her plants, enjoying watching her birds at their feeders, and spending time with her many close friends. Bernice will be remembered by many for her special blend of grace, beauty, strength, and love.  

Bernice was predeceased by her parents, Julia and Barney Skelton; sister, Brenda; brothers, Bernard and Byron; and husbands, John Robert Williams and Winfred Roger Brown. 

She is survived by her three children, Janet Williams, John Robert “Robby” Williams Jr (wife Jennifer), and David Brown; sisters Bonnie Thornton and Belissa Bosarge, grandchildren Jacob, Kayla, Jared, Holly, Jordin, Julia, Jessie, and Jace. 

Services will be held at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS on Friday, May 10, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and services begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket, MS. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, O’Neal Road, Gulfport is honored to serve the family of Julia Bernice Brown. 

The family prefers donations to a memorial endowed scholarship for the College of Health Sciences at William Carey University in Bernice Brown’s name.
